Wrestling Camp last week and this week

Things went really well at our Middle School and High School wrestling camp last week.
The kids learned a lot of technique but more importantly they had fun.

The same thing this week with our little guys - K-5th graders.
The camp is going well and they are having fun and learning a lot of technique.

Wrestling is a tough sport and takes a lot of hard work.
The most important thing is too make sure the wrestler is having fun in the sport.

I have heard coaches say the fun is in winning and getting your hand raised.
That may be true but I believe the fun is in being with your teammates and building
life long relationships from the friends you meet in this great sport. The fun is in the hard work
when you see the improvement and the gains you make from that hard work.

Keep doing your best and try to enjoy the sport of wrestling. This sport will teach you many life lessons.
Have a safe summer!!

I hurt my knee. When I returned I went to the Wildwood Duals where I
went 7-3. Then I qualified for states by taking second at the North
Hunterdon qualifier. Then after a couple weeks I had the New Jersey

him 4-3 in the finals so Then I took first. Then about a month later I
wrestled at the War at the Shore in Wildwood where I took 4th place.

cool but I would of liked to take first not second.

and good wrestlers that I had to wrestle.

Coach Pete DiPol – Interview

Q:  How did you like the University of Virginia Wrestling Camp?

A:  I thoroughly enjoyed the camp and seeing my wrestlers in action.  I felt the wrestlers really enjoyed themselves and improved tremendously. I really enjoyed seeing Edgar Allan Poe's dorm room when we toured the campus. I am a big fan of Poe's as well as Jefferson's work so this was a really great trip for me.

Q:  What are you doing this summer besides wrestling?

A:  I am currently taking two Doctoral courses at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. and trying to spend a lot of my time with my kids.  You can probably find me down at the Dinosaur pit in Haddonfield with my son Angelo – he loves that place!

Q:  What is your favorite T.V. Show?

A:  I love the History Channel, so anything on there. I do enjoy watching the show Rescue Me as well.

Q: What book are you currently reading?

A: I am currently reading Night by Elie Wiesel.  I have read it once before but just picked it up again and decided to read it one more time.  He writes of his experience being sent to a concentration camp as a young boy during the Holocaust.  It is an outstanding book!

Haddonfield Wrestling Club trip to University of Virginia Wrestling Camp

Thank You!  Bud Rahn, Bud Rahn, Jr., Doug Thompson, John Testa, Joe O'Neil, Bill Dengler, and the Barr Family.

This trip would not have been able to happen without the help of these individuals.  I can not tell you much I appreciate their help in
making this such a great experience for all of our wrestlers.

The wrestling trip for our high school and middle school wrestlers to the University of Virginia was a huge success.  The team won the University of Virginia Team Camp Championship as well as won the team Dodge Ball championship.  In the wrestling championship match the team beat Westfield, Virginia; they are the team that gave Paulsboro High School their sole loss this past wrestling season.

The team had the opportunity to go to Kings Dominion Amusement Park in Richmond, Virginia on the way down to camp.  While at camp the team toured the beautiful University of Virginia campus and even had the opportunity to visit Edgar Allan Poe's old dorm room.  On the way home from camp the team took in a Washington Nationals – S.F. Giants baseball game and saw the Pentagon, the Capital Building, and the Washington monument.  It was a great experience for all involved.
