Q: What are some of the states you have competed in this year for
wrestling?
A:I first wrestled in Greensboro North Carolina in Super 32 where I
took 2nd. Then I wrestled in Amarillo Texas where I won the Amarillo
Nationals. Then after that I went to Virginia Duals where I had to
injury default when I hurt my shoulder this was the same tournament
where, the year before, I tore my ulnar collateral ligament in my
elbow. After that I went the Cliff Keen Eastern World Championships in
Charleston West Virginia where I went two and two. Then after that
tournament I went to the Tyrant Duals in Delaware where I went 5-0 and
won the Most Outstanding Wrestler award for getting four pins and one
decision. Then I went to Tulsa Oklahoma for the Tulsa Nationals where
I went 5-1 and took 6th place because I had to injury default because
I hurt my knee. When I returned I went to the Wildwood Duals where I
went 7-3. Then I qualified for states by taking second at the North
Hunterdon qualifier. Then after a couple weeks I had the New Jersey
States where I wrestled the kid I lost to at the qualifier and beat
him 4-3 in the finals so Then I took first. Then about a month later I
wrestled at the War at the Shore in Wildwood where I took 4th place.
Then at the end of April I bumped up in weight and went to the Ohio
Tournament of Champions and went 3-2. Then I qualified for the team
New Jersey National Wrestling Team for Freestyle and Greco and went to
Indianapolis, Indiana and went 16-5. Then I went to Salt Lake City
Utah and and wrestled in the USA Nationals where took second in
freestyle and took second again in Greco and became All- American and
made the USA National Schoolboy Team!
I am currently ranked #3 in the country by USA Wrestling in my age age
and weight class, in the top 1% by Track Wrestling and tied for #27 by
US Wrestling for all wrestlers High School and under.
Q: What was your favorite tournament to compete in this summer and why?
Danny Boychuck Interview
A: Taking second in freestyle and Greco at USA Nationals was pretty
cool but I would of liked to take first not second.
Q: What was your most memorable moment in wrestling this summer?
A: Going 16-5 in schoolboy duals. Because there were so many matches
and good wrestlers that I had to wrestle.
Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you are not wrestling?
A: My favorite thing to do when I'm not wrestling is hanging out with
friends and having fun.
