Legends Championship Wrestling
1.
2. Jackson Memorial - 10 Returning Starters, 1 Region Champ, 1 State Place winner. Defending Group 4 Champion return 2 less starters than Wash. Twp. but they soundly defeated the Minutemen in last years Group semi-finals.
3. Washington Twp. - 12 Returning Starters, 1 Region Champ, 2 State Place Winners. No team in last years top 10 returns more starters, and a relatively young line-up has matured another year. This Washington Twp. team won't be the push over in groups that they were last year.
4. South Plainfield - 7 Returning Starters, 2 Region Champs, 1 State Place Winner, 1 State Champion. Lost a lot due to graduation, but that sophomore contingent should make SP a formidable opponent.
5. Paulsboro - 8 Returning Starters, 3 State Qualifiers. The defending Group 1 Champions return a strong core of upperclassmen, a proud wrestling tradition, and an in your face no nonsense coach.
6. Southern Regional - 9 Returning Starters, 1 Region Champ, 1 State Place Winner. The team in the toughest situation: being in the Shore Conference with Jackson , and being in Group IV South with Washington Twp. They will be hard pressed to jump any higher, but you can be sure the 9 returning starters will provide a solid core for the rams.
7. Haddonfield - 10 Returning Starters, 2 State Qualifiers. The Bulldogs are no longer flying under the radar. They return 10 starters and endured one of the toughest offseason workouts I've ever seen. Coach DiPol and his staff have this team heading in one direction only, and that's up. Look out Paulsboro in Group 1 South.
8. Hunterdon Central - 7 Returning Starters, 1 Region Champ, 1 State Champion. The loss of 5 state qualifiers is going to hurt this team, and could very well keep them out of the Top 10 by the end of the season, but the long history and tradition paired with Alex Shaffer's leadership will help the Red Devils to a successful season.
9. Timber Creek - 10 Returning Starters, 1 Region Champ, 2 State Qualifiers, 1 State Place Winner. This team returns 8 regional qualifiers and possesses a balance of new and old (4 Sophomores and 4 Seniors). Nick Cottone and the Chargers nearly shocked the New Jersey Wrestling World last year by nearly upsetting South Plainfield in the Group 3 Semi-Finals. Look for the Chargers to go from being a bad dream for SP to a total nightmare this year.
10. Bergen Catholic - 9 Returning Starters + 2 Transfers, 3 Region Champs, 4 State Qualifiers, 1 State Place Winner. With the transfers of Matt Dickman and James Dawson to Bergen Catholic, and the addition of incoming freshmen Sebastian and Casamenti, the Crusaders explode into the Top 10. The downside to this team is their entire season will be filled with competition as they compete against Don Bosco, St. Peter's Prep, Delbarton and the rest of North Non-Public A. If they can navigate through that competition, they could very well avenge every loss from last year except for Blair and Wyoming Seminary.
